Kate returned home in 2012 with slightly less itchy feet, and took on a role at Charles Melton Wines in cellar door and SA Sales, marking the beginning of her sales career. Sales wasn't necessarily a role that Kate had ever imagined herself doing, but as it turns out, exactly the kind of job that she had been looking for. Going to work every day to talk about wine and food, to drink good wine and to socialise – it's a tough gig, but someone has to do it!
It was over a glass of wine (or 2....) with a friend, that the opportunity of joining the Torbreck Sales team came up. And so followed an interview in a beer garden in Summer with the cricket playing in the background and a glass of wine in hand where Kate thought, this could be a great company to work for! A few months later she joined the business as SA Sales Manager and Export Assistant. Now she gets paid to drink some of the world’s best wine, sell it to the best restaurants and send it around the world. Some might call that pretty lucky!
