Alex joins us from Virginia in the US.  Following eight years working in business consulting, Alex realized her favourite aspects of the job were travelling, drinking fine wines and eating at top restaurants.  This led to her search for an appropriate post graduate degree that would provide the skill set necessary to work for a company who would allow (and actually pay) her to pursue these interests. 

Discovering a Masters Degree in Wine Business offered at the University of Adelaide, Alex excitedly applied to the program.  Prior to completely up-rooting from her life in Arlington Virginia, Alex took a leave of absence from her job at BearingPoint and headed off to the Barossa Valley to work a vintage for Two Hands Wines.  A few days into the vintage, covered head to toe in fermenting grapes, she realized there was no going back to the land of 9 to 5 and business suits.  Nine months later, Alex returned to Adelaide to begin her Wine Business Degree. 

During her study, Alex worked as a casual at a cellar door in the Barossa.  As graduation neared, she debated whether to return to the US or remain in Australia.  Via word of mouth, as this industry tends to operate, Alex heard of an opening at Torbreck as the South Australia Sales Manager.  A meeting with Scooter (cellar door manager) quickly led to a very serious and intimating interview with Dave Powell where he tossed aside her CV, handed her a glass and starting tasting through the Torbreck portfolio.  Needless to say, Alex readily accepted Dave’s offer to join the Torbreck Sales Team.

Over the past few years, Alex’s role has grown to include marketing, event coordinating, social media (Twitter & FB) and managing the website.  She has most recently accepted the position of NSW Sales Manager and uprooted to Sydney.
