2006
Dark, dense and rich, with a supple feel to the flavors of black cherry, smoke and licorice, which soften on the finish. Shiraz. Drink now through 2015. 1,000 cases made.
2005
Rich and very ripe, this is distinctive for its black cherry, blackberry and a wide range of spices that make it more interesting. A cardamom note lingers on the long, expressive finish. The tannins are well-integrated. Shiraz. Best from 2010 through 2020. 1,200 cases made
2004
Dark and spicy, with a strong orange peel character to the black cherry and licorice flavors, picking up a gamy note as the finish lingers. The tannins are crisp and need time to soften. Shiraz. Best after 2008. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 1,200 cases made.
2003
Dense and distinctive Shiraz that provides a lavish mouthful of licorice- and tar-accented purple plum, blueberry and sweet spice flavors. Framed with oak, but not at all woody. The finish rolls along unperturbed by the fine-grained tannins. Best from 2008 through 2020. 1,200 cases made.
2002
A strong earthy flavor runs through the otherwise generous fruit character. Finishes firm. Not as generous, pure and complete as other vintages. Shiraz. Best after 2007. 900 cases made.
2001
A big wine with an extraordinary sense of elegance, positively glowing with gorgeous blueberry, plum and white pepper flavors that skim across the palate like a sailboat in a perfect wind. Hints of mineral and spice weave through the long, long finish. Classic stuff. Drink now through 2015. 800 cases made.
1999
A beautifully layered wine, rich in texture, with lots of exotic spice notes weaving through the meaty cherry and berry fruit, all of which linger effortlessly on the firm finish. Best from 2004 through 2012.
1998
Soft and spicy, with charming cherry and raspberry flavors. Not as big and round as many Barossa Shirazes, making for a supple, appealing, drink-me-now red. Drink now through 2004. 240 cases made.
