Steven Tanzer - Steven Tanzer (IWC)

2009 Light orange. Deep, musky aromas of dried cherry, redcurrant and smoky herbs. An emphatically serious, chewy style of pink wine that offers rich red fruit flavors and a touch of licorice. The finish leaves traces of smoke, anise and bitter cherry behind and clings impressively. This weighty rose needs a rich grilled meat dish. 90
2006 Dark pink. Dried red berries and cherry on the nose, with musky herb and underbrush accents. Full and weighty, displaying powerful red and dark berry flavors and a chewy texture. A distinctive style somewhat akin to a Tavel, and emphatically not for casual sipping. 88
2005 Dark pink. Rich, smoky aromas of pungent cherry and dark berries pack a real punch. Fleshy, round and deep, the cherry flavor showing a refreshingly bitter tone. A rather powerful rose, in the style of a Bandol or Tavel, and better suited with food than as an aperitif. 88
