This is one of the most dramatic looking vineyards in the north western Barossa. The vines are all head pruned bush vines that look like gnarled and broken old hands trying to escape their prison in the soil. This vineyard produces some of the most profound fruit that we see at Torbreck each year. It is netted against birds and almost always is the last parcel of grenache to be brought to the winery each vintage.
Key Fruit Characteristics
Dense but lifted fruit characters typified by blackberry, violet and licorice in Shiraz and Black Cherry, Kirsch and Pepper in the Grenache. Wines from this property have prodigious aromatic complexity and a lovely harmony on the palate.
