The Vineyards (The Extended Family)

Knight Vineyard

Greg Knight looks like a dead-ringer for Daniel Day Lewis in his last movie 'There will be Blood'. He and his family live in the picturesque Eden Valley located east of the Barossa Valley and 120m higher in elevation. Greg manages the vineyard completely by hand and spur prunes to a limited amount of buds per vine to reduce yields. The vines are dry grown and no irrigation is used unless the vines are stressed. Greg's fruit has very different qualities to the Barossa parcels that we see each year. Typically more elegant and lifted and characterised by a soft cloak of spice and sometimes pepper. This provides the perfect foil to the richer more velvety Barossa fruit.
