In 2009 our Commercial Manager and Torbreck stalwart Paul Breen and his family made the move from the Adelaide Hills to the Eden Valley. Their picturesque 27Ha property is located on the outskirts of the town ship of Eden Valley and nestled in the rocky hills on its western ridge there is 2.3Ha of Shiraz planted in 1994. Paul and his wife Eva are learning more about farming their vineyard each vintage and their hard work will no doubt be rewarded with exceptional quality fruit that will be a perfect match for The Struie.
Key Fruit Characteristics:
The Shiraz from this vineyard exhibits typical Eden Valley attributes; lifted, pretty yet powerful aromatics, an earthy, spicy and structured pallet with a light texture and tight, grainy tannin. The wine produced from the Breen Vineyard complements our Barossa Valley Shiraz perfectly and we are sure it will be an exceptional Struie component for years to come.
