With a stellar year behind them and an invigorated vision for the future, Torbreck Vintners has created two positions in their senior management team.
Stuart Barrie has been appointed Marketing and Communications Manager and Matt Lane has taken up the role as Vice President Americas.
Stuart comes to Torbreck with a distinguished wine industry pedigree in Australia and the UK. Most previously at Grant Burge Wines as Marketing Projects Manager he had significant impact on the direct trading and communications channels. Prior to this he held the position of Communications Manager for Chateau Tanunda, established the Wine and Spirit Education Trust in South Australia and was up to then, a wine buyer and journalist in the competitive UK market.
“Torbreck is entering a new phase and as our business grows, we are looking to be more responsive implementing programs and concepts that enable us to communicate and interact with our customer base and key market influencers.” Peter Perrin, General Manager, Torbreck
Matt comes to Torbreck with considerable experience both in Australia, The United States and Canada. His most recent position as VP Americas for Peter Lehmann Wines saw him responsible for the entirety of the PLW business in the continent. Prior to this, Matt held the position of Director of Treasury Wines Estates ‘Heirloom Luxury wine group’ and was previously the Americas Wine Education Director for Penfolds Winery.
“We are delighted that Matt is joining Torbreck and look forward to utilising his vast experience across the Americas. Bringing a wealth of knowledge and business acumen to this newly created position, will enable Torbreck to have a dedicated market focus at the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our North American business.” Peter Perrin
Matt, a native Australian has lived in the Napa Valley since 2003 and will be based out of the Wine Creek office in Sonoma County.
“Torbreck has established an enviable reputation for producing world class wines and I look forward to showcasing the premium portfolio within a growing and highly engaged US market.” said Matt.
With two recent 100 point Wine Advocate classifications, and the highly anticipated release of the 2010 The Laird and 2012 Run Rig, the future of wine at Torbreck looks very exciting indeed.
