It’s been a series of  cold and blustery days this week and here in the office it has been the battle of the admin staff as to who can sneakily turn up the heating without the other people knowing.   As if anyone would complain…

Rest assured that our work life here doesn’t revolve solely around the thermostat. Here are some of the other ways we’re keeping ourselves busy:

Bob –Bob is our accountant and  he and his lovely wife Susan are off gallivanting around the Victorian countryside in their caravan.  See, Bob is turning 60 this week and didn’t want a big hoo hah, so he packed up the van, his golf clubs, and Mrs Waples and joined the rest of the grey Nomads touring Australia.  Happy Birthday Bob!

Linda – Accounts/Stock Control - Is madly beavering away trying to finalise stock take and working all ungodly hours in the process.  She’s very inspiring to the rest of us; her children are even enjoying their school holidays downstairs as we speak, taking the odd staff member on at Play station games whenever they dare venture near their room.

Sandra – Accounts Payable - Is steadily working her way through her files archiving everything she can lay her hands on and trying to complete all the tasks Bob has left her. We think that he may have left the to-do list somewhere in the files, so good luck to Sandra to find it and have everything finished for his return. No worries, we have faith in her!

Ben – Export Assistant – Well, poor Ben is off all this week after he had his knee operated on last Friday.  Our offices are on the  second story in our new office building and the thought of coming up the stairs on crutches is just a bit too much to face this week.

Tracey – Receptionist – Tracey has decided to see how the other half live over the border in Victoria for a weeks annual leave and is currently enjoying the cold and rain we are enjoying here, but in a different state.  You enjoy that Tracey!!  Is it sounding like there is hardly anyone here??  Well you would be correct, but it is really showing the versatility of all the staff doing bits and pieces of everyones work in their absence.

Fiona – I’m the PA to Dave Powell/Office Manager – I can’t say that I haven’t been enjoying the serenity whilst Dave is overseas, but that is all about to change; THEN it  will be all hands on deck when Dave arrives back in the officeon Thursday.  He’s been in Europe for a couple of weeks and I am sure he will come back with some interesting stories and some new ideas .  There’s never a dull moment around here, that’s for sure!
